It's National New York Day! If you don't know already, I live in New York and have lived here for about 5 years now.
There are so many things I love about New York. I love how diverse it is, I love how there's city life and country life. I love living on Long Island, away from the city but close enough to get there in a short amount of time if I want or need to. I love all the local restaurants that are here, and of course all the local wineries!
I wanted to share with you my top 5 places you have to see if you ever go to NY.
Times Square
If you are a city person and night owl, Times Square is the place for you! The lights make it seem like it's always daytime. No matter the time or season, there's always people on every corner. There's tons of shops if you're the kind of person to want souvenirs, and local boutiques and restaurants.
The Hamptons
If you didn't know, I am a real estate agent based out of Long Island, so I do a lot of showings for houses in the Hamptons. Let me tell you - these houses are GORGEOUS! They have some of the coolest architecture I've ever seen, and I love seeing how unique each house is. The Hamptons are located on Long Island, so it's worth going to drive around, maybe go to a few showings for fun, and make stops along Long Island!
9/11 Memorial
I'm always in awe every time I go here. It saddens me to see this memorial and look at all the names of people who passed away on this tragic day, but it also makes me appreciate everything I have. It's definitely something you should see when you're in New York. There's also a museum you can go to about 9/11.
Central Park
I love spending the day in Central Park. I don't do it often, but when I do it is so rejuvenating and beautiful. I love being out in nature, and in the city this is the best thing you'll get. It's definitely worth going to spend the day at. Bring your family and a picnic and have a good time outside!
Coney Island
Last but not least is Coney Island in Brooklyn. This place is so much fun, if you couldn't already tell by the picture! It's the perfect place to take your friends and/or family to longue at the beach and have a fun-filled day walking along the boardwalk, eating the street food and riding all the fun rides.
I hope this post gives you some inspiration to start planning your trip to New York!
