Lucky 13's

I've been in West Jordan, Utah for a little over a month now and today was the first day I ate at one of their local restaurants. The one I went to is called Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse, located in Jordan Landing. Together, me and my little brother, Jesse, demolished a couple of their burgers.

They are definitely taking health and sanitation seriously here. Every staff member had gloves and masks. I noticed our waitress would change her gloves after every single task, so I definitely wasn't worried about cleanliness. We chose to sit outside - it was nice! There was shade provided so it didn't get too hot. There's even tables around the shopping area so you can sit outside if you wanted to take your food to-go.

To start off, Jesse and I ordered some chips and salsa. I think the thing that surprised me the most about this restaurant is how good their salsa is. I know it's weird, but it's true. It's like 100 times better than the salsa at any Mexican restaurant on Oahu. I don't know if that says more about how good Lucky's is, or how sad the Mexican food on Oahu is. Either way, I couldn't get enough of it. The chips had some sort of seasoning blend on them which made them super tasty. They weren't stale either, which is always a score!

Lucky's burgers have been voted as the best in Utah, so of course I had to try one! They also offer sandwiches, wraps and salads. I took some pictures of the menu for you guys to check out! I ordered the Celestial Burger with onion rings and Jesse ordered the Ol' Man, also with onion rings. We're an onion ring type of family if you haven't noticed.

When I got my food my eyes grew as wide as my head. I could already tell how much of a cheesy, bacon-y, greasy, delicious calorie bomb this was going to be. It was HUGE. They definitely don't skimp you on the portion sizes here. I took my first bite and, I don't know why, I was so surprised at how warm the patty was. It was hot. I've never had a burger as hot and freshly made as this one. And it was oh so good. The perfect sized patty in proportion to the bread, and the perfect amount of toppings to go with it. The onion rings were also delicious - I'm picky about my onion rings and these definitely were 10/10. The sauce for them, well... I could drink it right out of the container, that's how good it was.

Jesse also loved his food, clearly, because he finished every single bite. I was soooo close to finishing mine. Check out the damage done.

This is definitely one of the best burger places I've been to, and I highly recommend giving it a try if you're ever in the area!
